Tunisians mourn the passing away of great painter and sculptor Zoubeir Turki on October 23, 2009.  Zoubeir Turki was born in Tunis in 1924 and studied in Ezzaitouna in Tunis and arts schools in Tunisia and in Europe.  He settled in Tunisia since 1959 where he cranked out a great art career and left an undeniable imprint on the Tunisian cultural scene (no pun intended).  For many, he is known for his countless stamps series.  For a glimpse, check out this TV5 interview with Zoubeir Turki.
